He was obviously based on Saint Nicolas, or Sinterklaas in Holland, something the name should've easily given away, my friends. Sinterklaas, Sintaklaas, Sintaklaus, hmm? He was combined with Father Christmas, a rough, tough, fat old sailor with a scruffy beard, who gave Santa his appearance. Basically, in Holland, Saint Nicolas visits us twice! We spoiled bastards! Well, Santa is a culmination of things(not money).
