About Me
First of all, welcome to DamnLeet, a place of random posts on various subjects. It is a domain name I acquired a few years back after a quick moment of ‘hey, I wonder if that name is available’, and, aside from a year where the domain fell out of my hands, it has been home to my blog.
So who is this ‘me’ guy I seem to be so fond of?
‘Me’ started out as a tiny bit of sticky white goo made in a man’s private parts entering a lady’s private parts, but since that section of the story is too gross to even think about I’ll skip it. Anyway, from there on it evolved into a 195 cm tall ape-descendent creature inhabiting the planet Earth. More specifically, it currently inhabits Tilburg, the Netherlands, and has been doing so for all of it’s life, which started in November of 1989.
It has been going by the name ‘Jeroen’ which is somewhat silly since a significant part of the world’s population has difficulty pronouncing that correctly, but it hasn’t had much choice in the matter really. It has the genetic make-up, external appendages, hormone balance, and other characteristics of what is considered to be the ‘male’ half of its species.
It shows a keen interest on many technology-related subjects, including software, mechanical and electrical engineering – all subjects that posts on this blog are frequently dedicated to. It may be worth noting that ‘frequently’ is an entirely subjective term the meaning of which varies over time – in other words, there’s no real schedule to the posts. Sometimes five may appear in a week, sometimes it may be quiet for a month (or longer).
Unlike other male members of the species in the same age group it does not show any particular fondness for video games, aside from the occasional game – typically an RPG or RTS – which happens maybe a few times a year (and in those cases, is frequently accompanied by ‘oh crap, it’s 5 AM already?’ moments).
It also enjoys the occasional reading (which doesn’t happen that often due to a lack of books), television series (lots of those), and movies (lots of those, too). It follows an absurdly large number of webcomics (including Ctrl+Alt+Delete, xkcd, Oglaf, Cyanide & Happiness, John & John, and various others). And of course the social thing with the friends and stuff.
It also has two small dogs, one is a Shih Tzu named Boris who has the size and behaviour of a puppy (even though he’s four), and another dog called Whisky, who is a lot less playful, but they’re both very nice.
Despite its loathing of such websites, it has a mostly inactive presence on Facebook.
Occasionally it writes stories that are kind of weird. Its favorite integer number is 42 (with powers of two also enjoying high popularity), despite its solid belief that everything is 4. In the realm of real numbers, it is quite fond of π but i is also fun.
For more information, you’ll just have to read the blog and get in contact with me. I cannot say that I don’t bite but at least I cannot physically bite you virtually, so you are probably safe.
For the moment.
